Lakebay, Washington - Stuart Eugene Hanson, born in Tacoma in 1937, passed away on March 13, 2022.
Stuart graduated from Stadium HS, the University of Washington with an Engineering degree and USC with an MBA. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Peacock Hanson, sister Jane Williams, children Stuart (Barbara), Steve (Corey), Stephanie (Kevin), Scott (Deshea), 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. & Mrs. Eugene Hanson and son, Stanford Hanson (Sandra).   A memorial will be held at Saint John Episcopal Church Gig Harbor for family members only.     Stuart was a Civil and Mechanical Engineer who worked at St. Regis Paper Company, Owned Hanson Engineering and worked for the Dept. of Defense at Bremerton Shipyard and Army base Heidelberg, Germany. He retired from the Corps of Engineers in 2000 and built his home in Lakebay, WA. He is a US Army Reserves Veteran and was married to Phyllis Peacock for 60 years. They raised a family of 7 in Gig Harbor and were members at St. John's Episcopal Church in Gig Harbor since 1961. 
He enjoyed boat buildings, carpentry, wood working, traveling, and geology.
