Susan Bash Miller, a smart, beautiful, and compassionate woman died peacefully on April 26th with her husband and son by her side. Her wonderful and uplifting Spirit was remarkably rare, and she could inspire others to be better people with just her smile.
Sue was that unique person who not only was successful in business but also loved to cook, garden, and most of all, to ride and care for horses. Her natural patience and instinctive understanding of these animals led to years of rescuing and caring for all breeds. She rescued many horses and created a non-profit to help with their care.
Later in life, as the physical aspects of caring for her horses began to take a toll, she turned to funding various horse health and welfare organizations. Sue’s latest efforts were to Cody, Wyoming based F.O.A.L., Friends of a Legacy.
F.O.A.L. is committed to preserving and protecting the wild horse herd living in McCullough Peaks. A recent addition to F.O.A.L. is the “Living Waters Initiative Project”. This program benefits the wild horse herd by bringing new life into old reservoirs in the herd management area that have been in various states of disrepair for years. This not only benefits all the flora and fauna that call this high desert home, but allows the wild horses to venture further from existing water sources to new grazing grounds.
Donations to F.O.A.L. that are designated for the Living Waters Initiative will be matched by a grant through the N-C Draper Charitable Foundation.
Sue my sister and my best friend. She was a breath of fresh air, bringing charisma to any room she entered.
She was loving, compassionate and true. She had a unique sense for animals of all kinds, they too could sense her gentle spirit. Not a day will pass when I won’t think of her and remember her sincere grace and love for life. Remembering her beautiful soul forever…
Renee and Jack
