Sutton Daniel Delabar
May 28, 2014 – January 1, 2022
Fox Island, Washington – Sutton Delabar, age 7, passed away on January 1, 2022 while sleeping in his mother’s arms and is now with Jesus and his grandma in Heaven. Sutton was born on May 28, 2014 in Tacoma, Washington and was a child of Mallory Beckingham Delabar and Daniel Delabar.
Sutton was full of life and joy and was well loved by his family, friends, and his community. If he just met you he would be the first to ask you your name, would ask anyone to hold his hand, and always loved to give and receive hugs. His smile radiated and was nothing shy of contagious to anyone that was around him. He had a smile that encompassed his whole face and showed off his always friendly demeanor.
He believed he was the funniest kid you will ever meet, and he was right. Sutton loved the summer time and you would always find him playing outside with his siblings spraying water guns, throwing the baseball with amazing accuracy, running around the yard, and learning how to play golf with Pa.
He had a passion for learning. He was smart and enjoyed school and would constantly ask you to read books to him as he learned to read independently. Sutton dreamed of becoming a chef when he grew up and loved helping around the kitchen, prepping meals, and serving snacks to his siblings. If he could have eaten McDonald’s for every meal he would have, but his favorite food was ketchup and loved to dip everything on his plate into it. He would laugh as he dipped his food into it because he knew he was the only one who would love it as much as he did.
While Sutton’s life was short in the measure of time, it was full in the measure of love. He taught everyone around him to enjoy life every minute, to live like there are no strangers, eat delicious food, laugh so hard you cry, and to just love… all the time.
Sutton is survived by his parents, Mallory Beckingham Delabar and Daniel Delabar, his siblings August, Annie, and Bo, and grandfather (Pa) Matt Beckingham. Sutton’s memorial service will be on January 12, 2022 at 11am in the chapel at Haven of Rest.
