Tamie Henderson Obituary

Tamie Lynn (Stoddard) Henderson, 62, passed away suddenly on June 24, 2021. Tamie was born in Nampa, ID, and moved to the Tri-Cites in 8th grade. She attended Parkview Elementary in Nampa, ID, Park Middle School and graduated from Kennewick High School in the Tri-Cities. She was one of the few to make the varsity basketball team during her freshman year at KHS and was also badminton champion. During her early 20’s she played softball, travelled and loved to snow ski. In the early 1980’s Tamie moved to Port Orchard, WA which became her new home. Tamie was a bank teller in the Tri-Cities and worked for the local credit union when she first moved to Port Orchard. Later she moved into collections where she has continued to work.

Tamie married Dave Henderson and started her small family with Matthew arriving in August of 1993. Matt was her pride and joy and she got a little “mini-me” full of life and energy just like her. Those years were filled with Matt’s friends, sports and hobbies from videogames, baseball, soccer, to racing cars and traveling all over the country and being a Proud Mom. Tamie was so proud of the man and father Matt became. As we all know, Tamie was our fun-loving, always smiling, never knew a stranger, along with being the biggest prankster you could meet. She made so many friends over her years and has touched so many with her friendship, love and humor.

In 2019, Tamie gained a daughter when Matt married Angela and she was thrilled to welcome Angela to the family. She was ecstatic to find out shortly after she would be the grandma of a sweet little girl, Mia, the light of her life. Tamie was the best grandma and was again thrilled to find out little girl #2 was due to arrive in September this year.

Tamie loved spending time with all her friends and family, talking and she loved anything purple; she had many hobbies including beading jewelry, shopping and more shopping, spending time with her beloved Chloe and Mia, and of course, cooking Sunday dinner for Matt and his little family. She was an amazing mother, grandma, sister and friend to so many. She was taken from us all far too early and will be forever remembered and missed. She is survived by her son Matthew, daughter-in-law Angela, granddaughter Mia and soon to come grandbaby #2; brother Rockey (Twyla) and sister Loretta (Bruce) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tamie is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Candy Stoddard and sister, June Stoddard.
