Valerie Theinert Obituary

Valerie Claire Theinert, 67, passed away on June 11, 2020, at home with her husband, Randy, and daughter, Kristin, by her side.  She was so happy to become a grandmother just five weeks before, and be able to meet Parker, the newborn of Matt and Jackie, who she called "the best grand baby there ever was.”

Valerie was born in Spring Valley, Illinois and lived in Mendota until middle school. Her family moved to Peoria, Illinois when she was in 8th grade.  She graduated from Richwoods High School in Peoria in 1970.

One fateful day at the Peoria McDonald’s, she met Randy Theinert.  Valerie loved cars, she was very proud of her super cute orange Volkswagen beetle, and even more impressed by Randy’s 1963 split window Corvette.  The rest was history.  They married in 1973 and were married for 47 years.  They had two children, Matt and Kristin.

Over the years they shared a love for houses.  They built, renovated, and lived in 27 different homes across Illinois, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and California.  Along the way Valerie not only brought her special touch to the homes she lived in, but also to the people she lived around.  She touched the lives of so many people across the country.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Theinert; son, Matthew Theinert, married to daughter-in-law, Jackie Theinert, and grand-son, Parker Theinert; and daughter, Kristin Swan, married to son-in-law, Justin Swan.  She is also survived by her sisters, Sandra Garver, Pam Charlton, Elizabeth McCarthy, and Kate Crawford.
