Verniece Vera Lambert was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She left this world peacefully on February 24, 2021 at the age of 85.
She was born on July 11, 1935 in McIntosh South Dakota to Arthur Wolfer and Lema Wolfer. Her father farmed and when times became tough, he packed his family up in a trailer he built by hand and they moved to the Parkland/Tacoma area when she was two years old. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma in 1953. Early in her career she worked at Weyerhaeuser in Tacoma and later spent many years at the First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma.
Verniece enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, and kayaking in her big yellow kayak with close friend Martin Ives. She traveled and explored all around the West Coast and trips to Europe. Throughout the years she enjoyed sewing, bird watching, gardening, reading, and cooking meals for her beloved family. She treasured her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment with them. Verniece particularly loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Verniece is survived by many: her brother Daniel Wolfer, her three children; Joni (Charlie) Wilson, Bonnie (Randy) Dahlgren and John Lambert. Grandchildren include David (Jennifer) Westmark, Jacob (Kelsey) Dahlgren, Danielle (Martin) Blevins, Garrett Lambert, Nick Lambert and Alex Dahlgren. Great grandchildren include Eli Westmark and Haley Dahlgren.
For those that knew her they were blessed with the kindest of hearts, biggest of smiles and most selfless of souls. She will forever be loved and missed by all those that were blessed with her love.
