Walter H. Smith

Walter H. Smith passed quietly in his home on March 22, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born in Fergus Falls, Minn on May 20, 1933 to Henry and Ella Smith.

Walter “Bud” grew up and helped on the family farm until he joined the army in 1953.  After his time in the service, he moved to Seattle where he met and married his first wife, Jenny in 1957.  They had 4 children – Greg, Lisa, Vicki, and Kirt. 

Bud worked for Boeing for many years but left to start his own business, Bud’s Remodeling.  He was a man of many talents.  He could fix anything from plumbing to electrical and was an exceptional wood craftsman.  He later returned to Boeing and retired in June, 1990. 

Bud remarried in 1973 to Sandra Aadland, and welcomed two stepdaughters, Pamela and Julie to the family.  They moved to Longbranch in 1990 where they proudly built their retirement home overlooking the Puget Sound with a breathtaking view of Mt. Rainier.  Sadly, Sandra passed in 1993. 

Bud remarried in 2003 to a longtime friend, Annette.  She has four children, Mark, Brad, Burt, and Lynette.  They were married until his passing on Mar 22. 

Throughout Bud’s life, he enjoyed camping, hunting, and sharing his crafts with his family and friends. 

A private family graveside service will be held at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
