Yumiko Nanjo, 88, passed away peacefully at her home, in Gig Harbor, WA on Monday, January 10, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Tokyo, Japan on January 1, 1934 and was sponsored to moved to the United States in 1960 to San Francisco, California where she met her husband. She was an Air Force wife, moving many times during her life, including overseas. Yumiko loved to cook and travel.
Gig Harbor has only been her home for 3-years, but she loved the community and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, James T. Nanjo; her daughters Naomi Day (Alan) and Nanette Nanjo-Jones (Christopher); her grandchildren Christopher Hardesty (Jamie), Jonathan Hardesty, Sachiko Trimpey (Nick) and Samuel Hardesty. She was predeceased in death by both her parents and her grand daughter, Emily Hardesty.
There will be no service, she wanted a simple gathering with family.
