Haven Of Rest, the Funeral Home, Crematory and Cemetery located right beside Highway 16 in Gig Harbor, WA has been serving local families at this location since 1954. Each of our employees considers it a privilege to serve you, the residents of this community. We stand ready-and-waiting to assist in pre-planning for funeral and cemetery needs, guiding and providing encouragement when arranging for funeral and memorial services, and we respond immediately when informed of a loved one's death at a local home, hospital or care center. We also skillfully provide our share of the necessary partnering when a death occurs out-of-area, or we need to assist in sending someone to another location.
We're proud to let you know that we are family-owned and not a member of a corporate establishment. We don't believe in farming out our responsibilities: our own staff responds to "First Calls", each employee who meets with you to make funeral arrangements, or provides care of your loved one, is licensed/certified by the State of WA. Many years ago we invested in our own on-site crematory. Our crematory operators are rigidly trained and sticklers for detail so that we always meet or exceed expectations during annual inspections. You can be assured and confident that your loved one never leaves our professional and compassionate care.
We proudly work with the Custodians and record keepers of each of the local community cemeteries in the greater Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula area. We know the procedures and expectations of Tahoma National Cemetery, and also have frequent contacts with Military Honors for each branch of Service, as well as the National Guard. Our experienced office staff is on a first-name basis with the Vital Statistics registrars as well as the Medical Examiners/Coroners offices of each of our surrounding Counties. The obituary desk of each of our local newspapers is on speed-dial and we daily submit electronic obituaries and photos to these papers. It would be a pleasure for us to help you in any of these tasks. Just ask…
