Chester E. Dadisman

Chester E. Dadisman, age 98, a long-time Gig Harbor resident passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017.  Chet was a WWII veteran who retired as a US Army Colonel after serving his country for thirty years.  He was an avid gardener and golfer who also enjoyed boating and fishing.  He was raised in Home, WA, leaving at the age of 18 to attend Washington State University where he received his BA degree in agriculture.  His military assignments included: service in Europe during WWII and after, ROTC instructor at WSU, time in the Pentagon, and service in Korea.  In 1970 Chet ended his military career with his last duty station being Fort Lewis.

Chet and his wife, Muriel, were a very social couple.  They enjoyed travel, card parties, entertaining, and dancing at the Elks Lodge.  Chet loved growing and sharing the bounty of produce from his extensive garden.

Muriel, his loving wife of 67 years, and daughter-in-law Katherine Dadisman, preceded Chester in death.  Family members include: daughter Margaret Morgan, Savannah, GA; son Richard Dadisman (Cindy), Gig Harbor, WA; daughter Maryjane Robbins (Rich), Harstine Island, WA; granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer; grandsons, Michael (Casey), and Christopher (Marianna); three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mia, and Christopher Jr.

Many thanks to the people who allowed Dad to remain in his own home on Peacock Hill.  We will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion of caregivers: Dixie Simon, Morgan Delucca, and Diane Vivona.  We would also like to thank the staff of Home Instead and Right At Home who provided our caregivers and showed such warm concern. 

At Chester’s request there will be no funeral services, rather a small family gathering. Internment will be at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.
