Joe was born March 31st 1955 in Washington DC to Evelyn (Iacoviello) Nazzaro and Joseph Nazzaro.  He was the second oldest of 6 siblings. He had 3 sisters and 2 brothers – Gail was his older sister and passed away when she was 36 from cancer. He is survived by his brothers; John (Jake) Nazzaro, Chelmsford, MA, Jeff Nazzaro, Winchendon, MA, and sisters; Joanne McKie, Billerica, MA Jackie Nazzaro, Rochester, NH. Joe’s family was a military family and traveled to many places. He graduated in 1973 Stuttgart HS in Germany.

Like his father, Joe joined the military and that is what brought him to Washington State. He left the service and stayed here as he had fallen in love with this beautiful state and all that it had to offer hunter and fishermen. He loved everything about the outdoors. Steelhead fishing in the rivers was one of his favorite hobbies. He loved to be on the river before the sun rose and was often still there as it was setting.

Joe met his wife of 28 years, Judy, in Washington. They started dating in 1980 and were soon sharing a home together. Judy and Joe got married at the beautiful IAO Needle Park in Maui on September 12th, 1987. They bought a home in South Hill, WA where they started their family together.  He could never have been happier than when his sons were born.  JJ was born in January 1992 and three years later Jason was born in February 1995.

Joe was a wonderful father to his two boys. He shared his love for sports and the great outdoors with them. He was very involved in their sports careers through coaching and teaching them how to compete. Joe would have dropped anything just to attend one of the boys’ practices or games.

Joe earned his black belt in Taekwondo and was a role model for both JJ and Jason with their success in this sport. Joe was very proud of all their achievements. He spent hours and hours even on sunny Sunday afternoons training the boys and helping them improve. He helped both boys win state titles and make multiple trips to the Junior Olympics.

As the boys got older, they shared many hunting and fishing trips with Joe. He made countless memories with them through these precious moments.

Joe was an inspiring husband, father, brother, and son. We do not know why the Lord needed him home so soon, but we know that he will be dearly missed.

He will be laid to rest on Friday, July 15th at 11:30am at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent with a military ceremony . An Open House will follow this ceremony at the Nazzaro Family home.

You are encouraged to please leave your memories and condolences or light a candle in Joe's memory on this website for the family. In the photo gallery you may also upload pictures from the past of times shared with Joe.
