I first met Audrey when I joined the Occupational Therapy Department at Good Samaritan Hospital in 1983 and was delighted to find she was a neighbor only living a few blocks from me. Her rose garden was greatly admired by me, especially as I was incapable of growing them.

I had visited Audrey just last month and we had a great conversation. When I arrived she had Blue Bloods on the television and we shared a good laugh about how Tom Seleck had sure aged a lot better than we had. Her pride in her children and grandchildren was so very obvious as we talked and she sure delighted in talking about them. During our conversation of several hours we covered past history, current events and the interests we still had and her lively mind was always in high gear. She will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Nancy, Michael and the family. Mrs. Hori was always so kind and never objected to a bunch of teenagers hanging out at her house. Her generous spirit continues to be an inspiration.

Our hearts go out to Mike and Nancy, and to all her extended family. Gloria and I will always remember Audrey as a good neighbor and an especially great friend to my mother, Joann. We always felt welcome in her home -- we will miss her.
