Patty was truly a special teacher, team partner, and friend during the year I was fortunate to team-teach with her at Dana Middle School. Her combination of dedication and warmth to our students, and to creating a great learning experience for our 50 students, worked magic in our program. I still recall that year as my best teaching experience throughout my career. She will be missed and remembered by many, and I will always cherish what we shared in 1998-99.

My deepest condolences to your family. Patty was a wonderful colleague and inspiration to me in my early teaching days. Her calm demeanor during periods of high stress helped me through some difficult situations, and I'm forever grateful to her for being such a great role model. Thoughts and prayers your way.

My derpest sympathies to Patty's loved ones. She made a huge positive change to our local middle school and was someone we all respected emensly. I enjoyed the many evenings we spent chatting while exercising in the pool, and she offered some great insight into how to help my children become successful students. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this sad time.

Mrs. Ladd was an amazing lady! My daughter was blessed to have her as a principal at Correia Middle School. As an educator myself, I know that middle school is such a challenging time for students, but Patty was always there to make every student feel important and loved. The world is a little darker now that she is gone, but Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. My love and prayers to all that have known her.

We celebrate Patty and the amazing work she did in San Diego for children and communities. Correia and Point Loma schools were particularly blessed. Her leadership style was unique---she gained trust and collaboration of her staff, parents and students. Her impact will continue to grow and live in all those lives she impacted in such amazing ways. She was respected and loved. How she approached problems, how she taught respect, how she was able to collaborate with so many, how she empowered those around her, how she freely shared her wisdom and kind words---we learned from her. I am so very thankful for the brief time our paths in life overlapped. Our family remembers and celebrates her life.

Patty Ladd truly cared about people and was so committed to public education. She believed that every student could succeed. Patty was not afraid to challenge the status quo and always put kids first. She was greatly respected by staff, parents, administrators and community.
Patty was a passionate lifelong learner and true friend. We had privilege to work with Patty in our community. I had the honor to share sentiments offered by her colleagues about Patty at her retirement party several years ago.
- Meets every student at the front gate and says Hello.
- I love it when administration is visible and personable.
- Open Minded/Collaborative - Uses input from staff to make decisions that are best for the school .
-Patty is a diligent leader. When she first started working at Correia, she was an organized visionary who wanted the best for our community of learners. She challenged us and changed our focus to allow for better teaching and enhancement in student learning. While we gained "scores" and proved that we are raising the bar with our rigorous expectations, she valued our talent and dedication more. While Patty kept us focused on education, she constantly reminded us of this awkward time in our students' lives. People say it takes a special type of person to be a middle school teacher, well it also takes a special type of person to be a middle school principal!
-I feel that her diplomacy in dealing with students and parents is exceptional. She demonstrates patience and tact in dealing with students, parents, and staff.
-Committed, compassionate, understanding
-Patty was a strong supporter of the arts, Inspirational leader, communicator, coach and counselor to students and staff driven leader
-Dear friend best boss I've ever had!
I know that I speak for the entire Point Loma Community when I say Patty made a lasting impact on our students and our community.
