Alvin K Benson

Alvin Kenneth Benson, Born September 13, 1918 in Balfour, ND.  A resident of Gig Harbor, WA for 50 years. Alvin passed away in peace at his home on October 15, 2016 at the age of 98.  He was surrounded by love and will forever be loved and cherished. 

Ken was married to his devoted wife Edith Benson for 50 Yrs.  They spent all their time together, working, traveling, and fishing. They are forever soul mates.  He had a wonderful family and they meant everything to him. His grandchildren were his delight.

He started out being an Embalmer, Furniture Salesman, Furniture Liquidator, and Furniture Manufacturing. 

He loved to write agendas and wrote a book full of them.  He was a great thinker and so full of wisdom.  He would sing all the time and the home was always happy.  He was the kindest person you would every meet, loved everyone and had a special place in his heart for the Indians.  His home is full of Indian portraits. 

He is survived by his wife Edith Benson, his children Allen Benson (Jina), Tammy Neslund, Rene' Ray, Jean Wheeler (Marsha), Wayne Benson.  Preceded in death were Son's Mark Benson and Dennis Benson, and Great Grand Daughter Brooke Wells.  He had 9 Grandchildren, Webster Benson, Tatum Benson, Frances Benson, Deric Wheeler, Jonathan Wheeler, Tony Benson, Jordan Goetz, Nikki Neslund and Monica Wheeler and 4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday November 18th at St Nicholas Church Gig Harbor, WA.  Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Gig Harbor, WA.  Remembrances may be made to Franciscan Hospice.
